Im thinking
Ive been thinking alot here lately. I love love love to write! and something Ive never really gave alot of thought or interest to (in the past) is writing a novel. I really want to now. I remember writing short storied in creative writing classes in high school.. I also remember liking to write them, just never really dawned on me to write a book. Its something Im giving alot of thought on, and Ive been brain storming alot of kewl ideas.. Most of them: short stories, poem stories.. but now, I want to write a book... =]

A DREAM I HAD LAST NIGHT
Yes, this was just a dream but it makes you think..and it makes your spirit jump!
I was in the middle of what appeared to be a mall where chairs and tables were around a large fountain and people were eating there. There was people appearing to be in there 30s and 70s (these are the only ages I noticed). My husband and I were wondering around for a job for myself. I applied at a place where I would be able to sing songs. I told them I write my own songs and sing Christian music. The lady seemed interested, so she called my husband's phone, and asked if I needed lyrics or if I could sing the songs from memory. I told JP to tell her I could sing them from memory. She hung up the phone with my husband and somehow got on a loud speaker that traveled through out the whole mall and appeared infront of me behind a wooden podium and I could see the mockery in her eyes. She echoed throughout the whole mall saying these words "This girl right here stands for Jesus! She really believes that Jesus loves her so she makes up little songs about Jesus! Right here's the little Jesus Lover, over there she is! She claims that Jesus loves her.. Jesus Jesus Jesus!" She said it in a "mockery way" especially "Jesus" and she then started laughing. So ALL the people at the chairs and tables started laughing and giggling at me. I wanted to cry, BUT I DIDN'T. I just looked at Jp and told him I didn't want a job that wouldn't allow me to sing about my relationship with Christ. So I grabbed my guitar, some papers, my husbands hand, and started to walk out when I heard this 70 year old woman say a comment to her "cliche" of friends. She said "Did I hear correctly? Did that girl actually say she had a relationship with Jesus?" I turned around in anger, not knowing if the woman was being compassionate or just poking more fun at me... so I ran up to them, looked the group of women right in the eye and gave my testimony...the whole room got quiet and ALL EYES were on me. I told them what all God has done for me and how I love singing praises of my Lord. I told them about my journey to get where I was (there..in my dream) and how Jesus has totally touched my life. I began to cry as I told them how "he's my rock and he was always there when no one else ever cared..he cares about me!" I quit crying and began to feel strong as I told them: "He's my prince of peace, he's my savior, he's my counselor, he's my best friend, He held me tight when I would lay there and cry..I could even feel him wipe the tears off my cheek, I know he loves me and cares about me.. I can feel his presence even as I sing. I love singing praises to my father." The women began to cry and I could then begin to feel the way they felt. They felt regret, love, and understanding... all because of the testimony I gave them...All because I stood up for Christ.. All because I told them what Christ has lovingly done for me.
So I have a few questions:
1. Would you stand up for Christ even if people were laughing and mocking you?
2. Would you give your testimony to the lost soul mocking you, even if it meant you could save their life?
(these ladies appeared to be 70 years old.. (and don't get me wrong, theres ALOT of healthy 70+ year olds that will live many more wonderful years..!) but alot of times when you reach 70 your health begins to change.. and in the dream, my testimony could of been the last chance those ladies ever got to hear about Jesus.
I challenge you and MYSELF this week (or whatever week you read/hear this) and stand up for Christ. Go out of your way to tell someone about God. Pray that God would give you a person to talk to. He wants them too, and sometimes he uses us as the messenger..PRAY ABOUT IT..listen to God who will work through your heart and mind!

Chruch, shows, vacation, voice lessons, song choices and AMERICAN IDOL!
hey guys! so I don't know if anyone really reads these things.. but hey! if ya do.. thanks! but for me, its really just a way to get everything out. i've been so busy this summer even though I quit my job! things have been going on left and right like no one even knows!
I have been attending my church called "the bridge" for im thinking about two years.. of course, I had been going there on and off alot before.. but here lately me and my jp have been going every sunday and thursday. ive become pretty active in church.. i play in our band called "5til midnight" we do a variety of music.. we do oldies, southern rock, country, contemporary, bluegrass, blues/soul, metal??? (idk..if its rly considered that), and i even rap in one of our songs. lol next, were gonna branch out to opera..haha (jk) but overall, its fun.. it keeps me active doing the things I love.. and keeping myself focused on what really matters...my relationship with my Lord. we practice on wed nights, and have our service on thurs nights. many people ask why we do that?..well, because alot of our group has a home church on wed nights and sundays..so on sundays we dont have service until sunday at 2. people like to go to the bridge to relax and have a cup of coffee while they listen to music and a message. to me, i look at it as a coffee house for Christ. why shouldnt God have his own coffee house?..lol but anywho.. every service is recorded, so you can watch it on ustream..just search the bridge, pastor eddie day. ok!? so i have a few shows scheduled that are coming up.. for me it seems like everyone wants to schedule me on wed, thurs, or sundays!...lol so i turn down alot of stuff. cause my band is important to me, and so is my attendance to church. but the shows i can do are fun! and they always make me feel welcome (most of the time)..haha
We went on vacation the end of june and it flew by. We went to charleston, sc to visit jp's brother..adam. we rented kyacks and got to see dolphins and crabs! lol.. the day after we rode the kyacks..we got a phone call from the company saying we ruined their kyacks and left whiskey and beer bottles in them! they falsely accused us, and threatened to charge the damages to the credit card number we left..i guess everything got straightened out and they found out who did it because we havent heard anything. god always takes good care of us. you just gotta give your problems over to him and let him do the rest. sooooo, then we drove to gatlinburg, where we rented a big cabin. a few of my family members went and overall, it was a good time and a nice memory. my grandparents had a fun time. we took pictures, went to the comedy barn, went out to the ol mill, and alot of other fun stuff! its a memory none of us will ever forget.
soooo i started voice lessons. ive only had two lessons though. she went out of town for her vacation..so hopefully she'll have a good time too! she has taught me alot about using my voice, breathing correctly, and standing. hopefully, ill learn even more!
so july 13, 14, 15 i will be gone to pittsburgh, pa where i will be trying out for american idol. i believe it is possible, just gotta give my all.. God has a plan for my life.. this may or may not be it.. but im shooting for my dream.. and i know he supports me especially when i want to do nothing but praise him with my dream. god is good. and i trust he knows what is best for me. i finally decided to shoot for ai...so thats what im gonna do! you guys pray for me and vote for me when i make it to the top 10! yea, im gonna go ahead and say it! lol what i found most challenging is finding a song to show your style and voice in just a few measures. but if you can find the right song, your set... so ive narrowed it down to these:
1. Crossroads - Eric Clapton
2.Beautiful - Christian Aguilera
3. Stay - Sugarland
4. Folsom Prison Blues - JOHNNY CASH!!!
5. It Hurts Me To - Eric Clapton
6. Surrender - Third Day (if they will even know that song)
sooo..these are my choices. I'll let you know which one I chose to tryout with..

A LITTLE BIT OF MY MIND!!
We live in a world where beauty is believed to lie in the pages of magazines where women starve themselves to be skinny! We live in a world where commercials advertise "do 'this', and not feel hungry"
We live in a world where teenage girls suffer bulimia to look like the underweight models they look up to! this isnt right!! It isn't eating that is wrong! What is wrong is the "image" women have to live up to! not only eating disorders, but women look in the mirror to find nothing but "ugly" because this world has brainwashed us into thinking we need to fit into a certain category/look!
Women fight the person in the mirror, when they should be fighting media! I've been there before.. but I WILL and I CAN win this fight! #STAYSTRONG you are beautifully you.. dont let ANYONE tell you otherwise! #amen

A "Ruff" Week
This week had definately been a tough one.
Have you ever felt like God doesn't hear you!? Well, sometimes.. or should I say ALOT of times I feel that way.. even though I know deep in my heart he does. With me, its just I wonder where my life is going to take me. I believe God will bless me. And he'll start with my music career..However, there is a few people that tug at me everyday/tear me down!..making me believe that I CAN'T do this. They are people I love and can't just walk away from because I love them so much! This Thursday God has revealed to me to become more humble..but have a tough skin for him! I need to pray for these people. After I stopped and thought about it, I was like "DUH!..why didn't I think of this before?" Well, its because we get so wrapped up in our daily lives, or we dwell on, or let the outsiders RUN/OWN us by what they say! Jesus didn't let the pharisees run him...so why should we!? So from now on instead of letting these people tear me down, I'll pray for them.
Last Monday I sorta..walked out on my job at jcp. I was sooo sick of that job getting the best of me. Everyday I would come home in tears hoping I did everything right, hoping no customers wrote in on the survey to bash me for something that came across the wrong way, or just crying (and dwelling) on a remark one of my coworkers would say to me..probably without them realizing how deep it effected me. And here lately, I've felt like "friends" that I've made from my job aren't really "friends"... It's funny how people can act like they are feeling awful and don't want to talk around you, but when they get around people who are "more like them" - drinkers, loud people, outspoken, "flip-their-hair-just-right" people..its a different story. Like for example: Theres a girl Ive hung out with quite a few times at applebees and other places.. I considered her to be one of my good friends!.. I thought if something ever happened, she would have my back. (and she has! a few times!) Well, Im sitting in the breakroom, alone at the table.. I try to start conversation with her.. ask her how shes been? I havent seen her in a while..is everything alright? She rolls her eyes "huffs,puffs"..and sits down next to another coworker and her mood just went from sad, and "dont wanna be here" to "OH HEY! T----!" For some reason that just ran all over me.. and from then on everytime I would see her.. she still wouldn't have a conversation with me. However, the other day I did get a text from her basically asking me if I was ok.. (where I walked out on my job) I don't know about you people, but being around these types of people will tear you down even more! So what do you gotta do? PRAY! lol. Even as much as you don't want to, or you may think it doesn't work.. but OH it does! So this is what I went through on a daily basis. It may not seem like much, but once it happens EVERYDAY of your life! it WILL get to you. Customers themselves get to you! So next time you're at a diner or a shopping area.. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE be nice to the associate/waitress... you never know what theyre going through. I could tell you stories upon stories about what customers have done to me (and I might in another blog) But always be nice to these people.. and alot of times it REALLY ISNT our fault!
So now I'm on the look for a new job. I'm finishing up online classes for pharmacy technology.. SOOO hopefully I'll be able to finish up and get a job doing that. Is it what I want to do? (no, Id much rather do music for the rest of my life) ... but I believe God's timing is alot different then ours. God takes me through all these obstacles to only make me stronger.. because perhaps in the future, I'll need to be stronger then what I am now!
All I can say is.. I don't care who is mad at me for walking out on my job, I don't care if someone thinks I'm lazy (because I'm not.. I've worked ever since I got out of highschool) I don't care what other people think! I am beyond that! I have to tell myself that everyday!! As you can see from what I wrote above, I CAN'T let ppl get to me.. God will take care of it!!! So I'm actually glad I get a couple months off.. I get to stay home and be with the things that really matter! My little family! (JP [my husband], Scooter, Meeko, Spanky [the cat], and our newest addition...Pogo) Scooter always puts a smile on my face when I walk through the door...doesn't matter what I've been through! His little tail just wags and he stands on his back legs for you to pick him up!...And don't you think God looks at us the same way? No matter what we've been through...or where we've came from... HE STILL LOVES US..and still wants to be a part of our lives. So when you're down, think about your dog.. or your cat.. about how excited they are to see you when you get home after a long, hard day.. and when you do, think about he God must feel the same way. COME HOME! he's saying.. I'll be so excited to see you walk through that door!

One of The BEST WEEKS Everrrr
Hey Guys! Its me again...
Got alot to blog about!! YAYYY!
Alright, well... Friday night me and Jp were headed to Greensboro, NC.. I just wanted to get on facebook and check a few things before heading out.. Well. I see my picture on http://www.facebook.com/taylorguitars Where I won the fan highlight contest. Its where you get your picture and your name posted on the main picture of their website for that week! I was sooooo excited!! They are also suppose to be sending me a tshirt, but i still havent got any info on how to recieve it =[ but hopefully I will soon. Well, We have to be at the concert a little before 7:00, and Im still on the internet around 2:00... lol! I was just blogging on facebook about how excited I am! =] and Jp's like "cmmon ashley! We need to get a move on" and Im like: "But Im soooo excited! arent you excited for me!?" and hes like "Yea, but you need to take a shower so we can go see Third Day!" lol... well, I got in the shower and still couldnt stop screaming and celebrating! I kept saying "Can This day get anybetter?" Then, I remembered it could! Cause we get to see THIRD DAY tonight!! yippyyyy!
Well, we got there and There was a artist who hasnt "made it" yet.. His name was TREVOR MORGAN.. He did a few songs with just him and his guitar...and I WAS BLOWN AWAY! Yall should definately look him up on facebook and iTunes! He sings "Jesus rides the subway".. and its GREAT! I totally bought his CD!! Then, Tenth Avenue North took the stage and THEY ROCKED IT! I only knew a few songs they sing like "Healing Begins" and "You are More"..but after Friday night.. I almost know them all! They are one of my favorites now! =] And at last, THIRD DAY took the stage.. and they were sooo AMAZING!! I couldnt believe how good they were.. We were in the 36th row, but they came back to the 38th row during one of their songs... they kinda just appeared.. and We were instantly the 3rd row! lol!! it was amazing! and for anyone who says Christian music puts God in a box, need to listen to Third Day.. God's music can rock just as good, and if not better then any Lynard Skynard concert.. (which by the way, someone yelled "free bird" last night.. i just wanted to yell back "really? are you serious?") lol.. But I def would encourage anyone to go see them in concert.. it will be WELL WORTH your money.. The presence of God is there! I couldnt help but give him the praise when Third Day sung. Thier lyrics and music was sooo touching and was filled with God's annointing.. We ended up getting to Jp's brother's house around 12:15.. we stayed there for the night so we didnt have to drive back to WV that late. It was great seeing our neice and nephew. We both had so much fun shooting nerf guns at each other, playing basketball, playing football, wrestling, shopping, and going out! =] I believe everyone had a great time.. This weekend has been one of the best weekends I have ever had. God really loves me.. and this weekend he gave me more then what I could ever ask for. I praise him for everything he is doing in my life. I believe his plans for me are gonna be great!
After watching Third Day perform.. I KNOW without a doubt that this is what I want to do. I want to put out music that will help people in their stuggles, situations, and give them songs to praise our Lord with. I cant wait until one day I get to stand on stage in front of tons of people singing to my Lord and Savior! Thats what I really want in life... Yall pray for me.. and send me a message, and I'll be glad to pray for you =]
Thanks for reading!!

Tornado in West Virginia
Well, to all of you who have watched the news, you could see that west virginia was in the area to get hit by a tornado. I live in mercer county.. on the lower part.. and we also had a warning for a tornado. Im usually not scared about that kind of stuff, because usually when it hits some of the mountains, it just blows off. Well, we have direct TV, so all the local stations were static-y...so I had to talk to my mom on the phone the entire time and check updats on weatherchannel and wvva.com. Some of the stuff they posted scared me like, "we think a tornado is headed torwards princeton, but we dont know for sure because were going by radar" Well, we have a little coon doggie outside that I decided needed to be in. I hated that he had to deal with the storm all by himself, so I let him in the house lastnight.. He was doing good all except he kept whining.. but actually he wanted back outside after a few hours went by. Jp is dead asleep (my husband).. and he has to get up at 4:00 every morning.. but i still felt the need to wake him up to make a plan about what to do if a tornado does hit.. we decided to grab all our animals and head underneath the house. I figured that we would get hail, if anything.. so i asked my neighbor if i could park my car underneath his car port..so I wont have dents in my car... I dont think hail ever came.. so we were pretty safe. heres a story about it: http://www.wvva.com/Global/story.asp?S=14529227 if you are interested in what the hail did look like in other areas though.. needless to say, Im glad i didnt get hit in the head with one of those!
